Well it’s been a week since Halloween. Are you sick of candy yet? Perhaps you’re looking for stealthy ways to dispose of some of it and/or get fruit & nuts back in your kids’ diet. Trail mix is my go-to for diluting M&Ms.
My family also loves banana bread so I baked a loaf, added less sugar than usual, and tossed in some trick-or-treats instead:
- 5 Hershey’s fun size bars broken up
- 5 Milky Way minis
The candy obviously doesn’t substitute perfectly for baking chips but when it comes to chocolate we are not that picky. Plus the caramel inside the Milky Ways added a pleasant gooeyness to the banana bread. Mmmmm…
