I hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas! We had a simple affair with family coming over for Christmas brunch and presents. Kept the table low-key but added a touch of the holidays with plaid placemats (Thank you Marshalls!) and Christmas tree ramekins (Target FTW).
Christmas Brunch Menu
- Poached egg, prosciutto, asparagus, curly endive salad with red wine vinaigrette
- English muffin with sour cream, smoked salmon, fresh dill
- Greek yogurt bar with cinnamon, honey, persimmon, pistachio, dried cranberry, crystallized ginger
- Toasted panettone (Italian holiday bread/fruitcake)
Everyone loved the DIY fun of the Christmas yogurt bar with yogurt toppings in Apilco ramekins on a Japanese lacquerware tray.
And the fragrant toasted panettone served in a Spode Christmas Tree fluted tart pan added a sweet touch to the tabletop.
The kids waited ever so patiently for brunch to finish before opening presents. Santa had filled everyone’s stockings and left Teddy & Lucy a special present each. It appears that he’s a bit of a megalomaniac, what with wrapping the gifts in paper featuring Old Nick himself!
